Atkins Companies Welcomes Autism Services Provider to Washington Medical Arts Building
Washington Township, N.J. (September 4, 2024) – Atkins Companies, a leading multigenerational commercial real estate development, investment and property management firm, announces that it has negotiated a 9,854-square-foot lease with ABA Centers of New Jersey at the Washington Medical Arts Building located at 405 Hurffville-Cross Keys Road in Washington Township, N.J.
ABA Centers of New Jersey provides comprehensive Applied Behavior Analysis therapy and autism diagnostic services to children and teens across the state. Its new office at the Washington Medical Arts Building will be its seventh in New Jersey, joining locations in Bridgewater, Edison, Hackensack, Hoboken, Monmouth Junction and Mount Laurel Township.
“We began ABA Centers of New Jersey with a simple goal in mind - reduce wait times for families to help them easily access the autism care their loved ones need,” said Christopher Barnett, Founder of ABA Centers. “We are excited to move into our new office at the Washington Medical Arts Building as it will allow us to create a convenient and adaptable space to help us deliver our critical services to residents across southern New Jersey.”
Acquired by Atkins Companies in 2023, Washington Medical Arts is a two-story, 70,140-square-foot Class-A medical office building located in the heart of Gloucester County. Atkins Companies is currently executing a significant capital improvement project at the property headlined by the conversion of a former fitness center on the building’s first floor into 33,000 square feet of clinical medical space. In addition, approximately 7,700 square feet of leasable space is being created by filling in the former two-story area of the fitness center.
Beyond the additional space, the project also includes major upgrades to the building’s common areas on both floors with new lighting, ceilings, flooring, paint/wallcovering, furniture, artwork and plantings, as well as new interior digital building directories. Also on tap are the addition of new common area restrooms and remodeling of the building’s existing restrooms.
Atkins is also making several exterior improvements including upgraded building signage and a new monument sign, ADA-compliant front entry ramp and an enhanced door access and security system.
Cory Atkins, Principal of Atkins Companies, added, “To find success in today’s market, medical office buildings must balance the needs of traditional healthcare users with those of growing specialty practices like ABA Centers of New Jersey. We look forward to welcoming them to the Washington Medical Arts Building and we are confident it will be the ideal space to support their work for years to come.”
